Privacy policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026 · Applies to the Crispr AI Android app (package com.crispr.ai)
The short version
Crispr AI has no server and no accounts. Your chats are generated and stored on your phone. The developer cannot see them, because they are never sent to the developer.
What stays on your device
- Chats and attachments. Messages you type, the AI's replies and text files you attach are processed by the AI model on your phone and stored in the app's private storage.
- Settings. Your chosen model, reply language and app-lock preference.
- AI models. Model files you download or import.
This data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also erase all chats in Settings, or export them to a file that you control.
What the developer collects
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and there is no Crispr AI backend.
When the app uses the internet
| When | Who is contacted | What they can see |
|---|---|---|
| You download a model | Hugging Face (huggingface.co), through Android's download service | Your IP address and which model file was requested. No chat content. |
| You buy or restore Crispr Pro | Google Play | Google processes the purchase under Google's privacy policy. The developer receives order records from Google Play, not your card details and not your chats. |
| You open a link (privacy policy, source code, "Report a problem") | The website you open, in your browser | Whatever your browser normally sends. A report contains only what you choose to write. |
The app includes Google's Play Billing library to handle purchases. Google may collect purchase and device information through it, as described in Google's own policies.
Microphone and voice
The microphone is used only when you tap the microphone button or start a voice chat, and Android asks for your permission first. Speech is converted to text by your phone's speech-recognition service. Crispr AI requests on-device recognition where your phone offers it; on some phones the speech service may send audio to its provider (for example Google). That processing is governed by the provider's policy. Crispr AI does not record or store audio. If you prefer, do not grant the microphone permission and type instead.
Replies read aloud use your phone's text-to-speech engine.
App lock
If you turn on app lock, Android checks your fingerprint, face or PIN. The app only receives a yes or no; it never sees biometric data.
Sensitive topics
Some agents discuss wellbeing, health and money. Those conversations are treated like any other chat: processed and stored only on your device. Crispr AI is not a medical device and does not provide medical, legal or financial advice.
Children
Crispr AI is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
